Weaponizing your vote in the most important election of our lives is wrong, privileged, and, to be honest, gross. We can't all get what we want all the time. Sometimes, we must sacrifice our needs for the greater good—country over party. I'm hearing a lot of rumblings about this "Overton window" thing. Let me remind everyone that the Overton window has nothing to do with a political party arbitrarily shifting to one direction. The Overton window is a direct reflection of the will of the people. And right now, the will of many moderate conservatives is to move right on a few key issues—namely, immigration, police reform, trans rights, and Gaza. We must oblige, lest we lose their vote. We can't expect these folks to vote for Harris simply to save our country from fascism. Anyway, white leftists, you must vote for Harris to save our country from fascism. The left-wing party simply cannot move left on your key issues to court your vote. We have the liberal base to think about, and frankly, they don't like you. I don't think you're getting it. Allow me to address you white leftists individually: Trans people: Moderates mostly find you—how do I say this without getting canceled—icky. We would've loved to bring one of you onto the DNC stage to discuss the [hundreds of anti-trans bills](https://translegislation.com/) introduced this year. Truly, we would've. But your existence is way too decisive. I'm sorry. Latines: Whew. ICE, am I right? Those guys are out of control. I mean, they basically have [unchecked power](https://www.albanylawreview.org/article/86138-the-dangers-of-ice-s-unchecked-rearrest-power) to stop and harass anyone brown. And the dangerous rhetoric from Democrats. I get it. If it makes you feel any better, Biden [feels regret](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/09/us/politics/biden-undocumented-immigrant-regret.html) for using the terms "illegal" and "murderer" while addressing the nation in the State of the Union. What other issues do you all care about? I can't remember. Anyway, let's take one for the team, amigo. Might I offer you a Daddy Yankee CD or something? Black people: It's still Black Lives Matter. We just need it to matter a smidge less for like a month. Then we're taking that dusty-ass toothless police reform bill, and we'll waive in your face for four years. But great news. Harris wants to legalize weed federally. You'll still be locked out of creating your marijuana businesses, but it's one less thing cops can kill you over. Arab people: Yeah, I read the New York Times piece with 65 interviews from nurses and doctors in Gaza. I was heartbroken to hear that most of their individual accounts claimed a steady flow of children, some as young as five, with wounds to the head and chest. I was heartbroken. But might I offer a suggestion? Anytime you read a story like that, I want you to picture yourself as one of those doctors or nurses. You've seen your tenth dead kid in as many days. Then, I want you to imagine the relief you'd feel if someone walked up behind you and whispered, "Trump would be worse." Doesn't that make you feel better about voting? I want to close by reminding you white leftists that your faction isn't large enough for the Democrats to build a platform for. I know you know this because we liberals have said as much in your comments for three months while simultaneously and preemptively blaming you for a Harris loss. So suck it up. This isn't about you. It's about the white male moderate who doesn't want to vote for a fascist/racist/rapist/criminal/bigot/transphobe/misogynist but will if Harris is too harsh on her fracking rhetoric.
