The Twitter Doctrine is a set of principles, beliefs, and rationales by prominent Liberals on Twitter for how change is achieved in this country.
In the Twitter doctrine, working within the political system to achieve desired outcomes is placed in the highest regard. Any activism outside of the system is deemed deviant, dangerous, and oftentimes criminal.
When I think of what the Twitter doctrine embodies, ironically I think of a Tweet.
> A liberal is someone who opposes every war except the current war and supports all civil rights movements except the one that’s going on right now.
Instead of viewing diversity as a social justice issue— a small but necessary step towards dismantling white supremacy— Twitter liberals view diversity as a way to cleanse the system of immorality. And once we achieve diversity, the system will sort of magically fix itself:
A woman CEO has greater moral fiber than a man CEO. A Black mayor is more just than a white mayor.
This believe then exempts women, people of color, and other marginalized identities in powerful positions from criticism until such behavior is so outlandish that it can no longer be defended.

The Twitter doctrine is in sharp contrast to the TikTok doctrine, which is much more anti-system pro-community.
If you ever watched a prominent Twitter personality attempt to recreate their popularity here on TikTok, you know how swiftly they are rejected.
So why this sharp turn into more leftist ideals? I think the answer has to do with the For You Page.
In twitter's early days, it courted journalists and socialites, both skewed white and liberal.
Later, when Twitter introduced its feed algorithm, it favored accounts that were already popular, and verified, which of course was also white and liberal.
Those white liberal accounts would retweet their less popular white liberal friends, and then they too would be come popular and verified.
This behavior effectively shut out a lot of Black and brown Twitter users. Insular communities on the website form as a result, like Black Twitter.
Black Twitter was far less likely to adapt the Twitter doctrine.
When TikTok came out, its algorithm took a more novel approach to virality. It placed far less emphasis on who was already popular, and focused on what was "good" content.
Because anyone could go viral, and because Black and brown creators were never inferior to white creators, just less pushed by Twitter, all of a sudden we had a rush of prominent Black and brown voices making quality and highly viewed content.

When the system inevitably fails its people, Twitter Libs will blame those most effected by the failure, instead of the powerful, particularly when their team is in power.

The Twitter liberal will tell you that violence is never the answer. But what they really mean is that all violence must be sanctioned by the state or by a corporate entity.
On occasion, state violence is so horrid that the Twitter liberal watches grapple with his ideology.
In the case of the murder of George Floyd, Twitter, liberals label the police officer as a psychopath instead of the results of state sanctioned violence.

The twitter liberal doctrine began after Barack Obama won his first term.
Seeing him in office gave us such a moral high, that some of us are still chasing that dragon to this day.
Obama taught working within the system is a noble pursuit and that voting is a powerful mechanism for change.
But what if change doesn't happen? Well, don't worry because Obama reminds us that "the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."
