Happy Digital Spaces is an exploration of the supplemental "mini-systems” designed by non-technical office workers, sometimes referred to as [End User Computing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/End-user_computing). Through a series of essays, I attempt to answer some questions using a wide range of established philosophies and methodologies. 1. What are end user developed systems? 2. Why are these systems so prevalent in corporate office environments? 3. Where are these systems most utilized? 4. Why do these systems appear to break down so often? 5. Why do office workers spend so much time building these systems instead of requesting the tools they need from IT? 6. Why are productivity systems, both end-user and professionally developed, so seemingly anxiety inducing? And how can we make these digital spaces more "happy?" *Note: Happy Digital Spaces is a [learn in public](https://dev.to/blackgirlbytes/how-to-learn-in-public-1coh) project that includes unfinished, early drafts of essays and other content.* Website (coming soon-ish): [happydigital.space](https://www.happydigital.space) ## Entries Entries written by me, attempting to flush out the Happy Digital Spaces concept.
